In Roslagen, about six kilometers south of the Björkö-Arholma church is the Karlberg parish farm. It is beautifully situated next to a bay of Björköfjärden. Here, EnergiEngagemang has installed a total of 669 solar panels on the different roofs. Annual production is estimated at almost 170,000 kWh/year.
Karlberg was originally a small archipelago home where the family made a living from fishing and a small farm. From the early 1950s, Karlberg was a summer resort.
In the late 1960s the land was put up for sale and the Täby parish bought it in 1968. The aim was to create a place for camps, courses and conferences. And the first camps were held in 1973.
Today, Karlberg is a modern facility with parish buildings, meeting rooms, a canteen, etc. There are sports and playgrounds and a swimming bay with canoes and sailing boats.
